Hey, problem solved. I downloaded the v1 zip file, and just did a fresh installation, it worked. Thanks!

This error is usually caused by a defense program blocking the updater execution. Might cause you issues with future updates so please look into it.

I'm having the same error. Not using a firewall and Windows Firewall is not blocking.

I'm using the version from the website, the v1.0.0.0 but when i try to update i get the above mentioned error.

As a sugestion, you could put the last version of the program to download in the download page so we could do a clean install of the last version tongue sticking out smiley

Thanks!

i will release a new version of the updater (1.0.1.0) today or tomorrow winking smiley

It doesn't fix much but it should help us understand why the 1003 error is happening for you

Hi

Can you please download this ZIP and place the experimental updater in your LBML folder .. then run it and tell me if it gives you the 1003 error or a 1003 message with some details?

if it patches your system fin version 1.0.0.1 i think held an updater so you might have to rerun it once again after patching to 1.0.0.1 but anyway just run it and tell me what happens

please use the new updater and tell me what it says the message you posted is from v 4.0.1 (old version) the experimental one is 1.0.1.0

The experimental LBML updater ends up calling LbmlUpdater.exe and thats why it says it's the old version of the updater. Why is the experimental updater opening the old updater?

I tried removing old updater from the folder and it triggers an error saying it couldnt find "lbmlupdater.exe" and it crashes.

Well, i tried removing the old updater and placing the experimental but removing the "experimental" part on its name, so it matches the old's name.

Now it worked and the message remains the same aside from the version:

07/01/2016 23:59:31
App version: 1.0.1.0
Error Code: 1003

System.NullReferenceException: Referencia a objeto no establecida como instancia de un objeto.

I patched it "manually" in the end and i have now the last 1.0.4.0 version of the LBML. What i did was:

1) Install a clean LBML 1.0.0.0 from the website
2) Execute lbmlUpdater.exe (i think the experimental one)
3) After getting the error, i went to the folder "updates" opened the next version of the LBML downloaded and unziped it on top of the existing version of the LBML overwritting everything.
4) Repeat 2 and 3 until u get the 1.0.4.0 version...

Not sure if this helps u identify the error but... well, thats what i did and it worked tongue sticking out smiley

Re: Getting an update error?

ok my bad

So
LBML v1.0.0.0 contains an updater v0.4.0.1
LBML v1.0.0.1 contains an updater v1.0.0.0

When the "Experimental" updater updates LBML from 1.0.0.0 to 1.0.0.1 (first update) it detects a new updater and try's to run that.

Can you do the following:

Download 1.0.0.0
Remove the LBMLUpdater.exe (in properties v0.4.0.1)
Rename LBMLUpdaterEperimental.exe to LBMLUpdater.exe (in properties v1.0.1.0)
Run LBMLUpdater.exe let it patch to v1.0.0.1
Rename the LBMLUpdater.exe (in properties v1.0.0.0) to backup_LBMLUpdater.exe
Rename LBMLUpdaterEperimental.exe to LBMLUpdater.exe (in properties v1.0.1.0)
Run LBMLUpdater.exe let it patch to the latest v1.0.4.0
Rename backup_LBMLUpdater.exe to LBMLUpdater.exe (in properties v1.0.0.0)

I will release in the next update the experimental updater as the real thing if it makes the above work.. and i will make it a full download from the website.

Just let me know if it works to solve your 1003 error : )

Re: Getting an update error?

Can't do that because when i change the regular updater for the experimental one and rename it, i run it and get the 1003 error so nothing happens and i get stuck with the original version from the website.

EDIT: Tried patching myself the first version and following the steps u described and the same error again, nothing different, the only way to update it so far has been to manually patch into the next version until the v1.0.4.0

paste me an error message that holds this field:

App version 1.0.1.0

So we are sure its the new updater giving the error not the old one.
