Need help installing/setting up

I'm having trouble trying to get a clear understanding of how to install and run this properly.
Using this video as the main reference I am following. My first problem I encounter at 2:12 when he opened the map.

When trying to open the map, I get a error message and prompts me to continue or close. What do I need to do from here?

downloading directx SDK fixed it.

my next issue is where do i get the maps? i got the data info on the map window but no map is shown.
i did download the extra map files in the download section, but those files were already provided from installing LBML.


i heard the map file was suppose to be in another file format for it to work?
if it's the map file that is under the download section......where should the files go? is the DDS document file type the correct map file?

PS on a side note to ADMIN
i've notice from previous threads, a lot seems to be about directx.
you should probably create a new sticky note to address the directx issue so you don't have to keep repeating yourself....but i do express my appreciation in helping.
ill be lookin forward to your reply on how the map issue works.

the program comes with a set of maps you can substitute them with your own DDS files.

They will appear in the program if you scan your position or select a planet from the filters window planet dropdown.

I have this problem as well. I'm trying to install LBML on my PC and get this problem. The download asks me to designate the location to save the files and I've no idea which folder that should be.
